The Javits Center is open for business, and we are proud to serve as a part of New York’s economic resurgence. Our staff is working closely with our clients, government partners and industry stakeholders to ensure operations are as safe, efficient and effective as possible. Thanks to the high vaccination rate statewide and in accordance with New York State and New York City guidelines, proof of COVID-19 vaccination (two doses) is ONLY required for those working in the building, including:

• Javits Center employees;
• Cultivated employees;
• Employees of vendors performing work for the Javits Center;
• Employees of our service partners and tenants such as FedEx and Fintech;
• Employees of General Contractors and Exhibit Appointed Contractors; and
• Individuals visiting the Javits Center administrative office area.

Face coverings are no longer required to enter the building.

Approved vaccines include those authorized for emergency use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or World Health Organization (WHO).

In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Javits Center was temporarily transformed into what some called the largest hospital in America. A total of 1,095 patients were transported from the region’s hospitals and treated in coordination with a host of federal, state and city agencies and business partners working together on site. From January to July 2021, we operated the largest vaccination center in the country – in conjunction with the New York National Guard and the New York State Department of Health. More than 646,000 vaccines were administered in less than six months – delivering a dose of hope to New Yorkers during the greatest public health crisis of our generation. Thank you to all of our carpenters, caterers, cleaners, electricians, engineers, freight handlers, painters, plumbers, security officers and administrative staffers who played a role in the design, construction and operation of the vaccination center and the field hospital.
